Syria security forces attacked in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria – Syrian state TV said Friday that two vehicles packed with explosives had been detonated in Damascus, targeting state security services.

The TV said Friday's explosions were caused by separate "terrorist operations" that targeted the state security building and another security facility in Damascus. It blamed suicide bombers.

According to the reports, at least one suspect "linked" to the attacks had been captured alive.

The state-controlled television station gave a preliminary death toll of 30. Gruesome video broadcast from the scene of the blasts showed closeups of severed body parts scattered amid debris.
