U.S. Plans Review of Intelligence

President Barack Obama said Tuesday that the U.S. would conduct a review of intelligence-gathering before theBoston Marathon bombing to determine whether authorities could have done anything to prevent it.

The president also defended the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, saying it acted on information it had, including a request from Russian intelligence services to look into Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the suspects.

"Based on what I've seen so far, the FBI performed its duties; Department of Homeland Security did what it was supposed to be doing," Mr. Obama..
